I know it has been quite some time since my last post. Alot has been going on and the summer is flying by. One thing at a time, Keith and I had the most delightful surprise this week when we got home. A package on the porch always perks me up but this package contained something very special and very unexpected. A lovely quilt for the baby we're expecting in the fall. Julie truly outdid herself and I know this is going to get a lot of use. I love the colors, fabric and it is a perfect size. THANK YOU doesn't even express how touched we are. And the pictures don't do it justice.
May you always have walls for the winds,
a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire,
laughter to cheer you, those you love near you,
and all your heart might desire.
For each petal on the shamrock.
This brings a wish your way
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.
Two blessings and a Guinness.
Hope everyone is feeling the luck of the Irish :)
I love getting mail, provided its not bills or junk. I don't accessorize usually but I had stumbled across this lovely website and just had to order something special. My necklace arrived in such a great little package and I had stumbled on a promotion for free earrings. Take a look .....
A new twist on an old favorite, Banana Cinnamon Bran Muffins:
1 1/4 c all-purpose flour
1/2 sugar
1 TBSP baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
2 c bran cereal
1 1/4 c skim milk
1 egg
1/4 c unsweetened applesauce
Combine first 5 ingredients and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine cereal and milk. Allow to stand until cereal has softened. Add egg and applesauce and stir well. Stir in dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in bananas. Fill 12 medium muffin pan cups coated with cooking spray. Bake at 400 F for 18 minutes. I like them warm with honey :)
Keith and I had a very nice and low key Valentine's Day/weekend. I am enjoying my flowers....I love the tulips and the new vase we got to put them in and my water bottle (I have been lusting after one of these for quite some time).
I wasn't very creative but did manage to surprise him with some single malt scotch he enjoys on occasion and a pineapple upside down cake. I also whipped up a batch of chicken soup to take the chill off the weekend.
Oh, and a gratuitous kitty shot....she enjoyed lounging the day away :)
Hope everyone had a great day!
