We are down in NC visiting my in-laws and we had a beautiful Saturday outside. I took the camera on a tour     around the backyard.

May Day brought some interesting weather and a much awaited addition to the house.  

Citrus Snack

WRN?

I was casting on my sock...cast on 56 stitches, join being careful not to twist (sound familiar).  So I am ready to get started, right? *Wrn to make 1---huh?  I flip the page to check for abbreviations/stitch definitions,  none to be found.  This happened to be during my lunch hour today and I was with a fellow knitter....do you know what a wrn is, I inquired? She had never heard of this stitch either.  Very odd.  I checked KnitSpeak when I got home,  wrn stands for wool round needle, this is the British version of a YO.  Mystery solved....I can now commence with my cuff.  Happy Knitting Everyone!

Cast off

I hit a bit of a milestone yesterday morning.  Lady Eleanor is cast off.  I will be weaving in the ends this week and the fringe will be added after blocking.  The color is a little off in the picture but you get the idea.

I've been itching to cast on some socks and I think I'll start on these.

A Packer Pachyderm

This was my surprise FO for my Silly Swap Pal who just so happens to be a fellow Green Bay Packer Fan.  Isn't he adorable? I think she looks pretty amused.

Oh how they grow....

I would guess this little guy has just about doubled in size since last week...but mom wasn't quite ready to leave him on his own.

The Big Reveal

  Thank you, Debbi!  We swapped our Silly Socks this afternoon. Debbi spoiled me with these lovely blue socks that fit perfectly (I need to get the specs on them), some Spunky Eclectic roving,  some of Mary's fabulous stitch markers, a yummy cookbook, handmade soap that smells good enough to eat, hot cocoa (that will be going with me to work), a fantastic sock pattern, and a whooping 600 yards of yarn called Dragonfly.  And thank you Christine, Crystal and Kathy for the wonderful narration....it was almost as good as being there.  What a great idea Julie and Crystal ! Perfect Timing

I was finishing getting ready to go to breakfast and the doorbell rang.  My Silly Sock Swap package has arrived!  Because this swap was a small group of friends,  those that are geographically close are getting together tomorrow for the reveal and Madame Purl and I will be 'calling in'.  Perfect timing and no I won't peak :)
